17-year tradition in Malaysia and Singapore, the inaugural Carlsberg Golf Classic Vietnam series tees off officially on May 8, 2010 at the Chi Linh Star Golf Club.
Four preliminary rounds will be held to select the top 15 (and ties) qualifiers in each preliminary round to advance to the Grand Final in mid-November. The four preliminary rounds will take place at Chi Linh Star, King's Island, Tam Dao Golf Clubs and the Grand Final will be held at the Dai Lai Golf Club. The expected participants in each round is approximately 120 players. The top three winners in the Vietnam series Grand Final will participate in the Carlsberg Golf Classic Malaysia Grand Final.

In the press conference dated 4 May 2010 at Fotuna Hotel, Regional Marketing Director of Carlsberg Indochina Mr. Hoang Dao Hiep said: "Carlsberg has a long tradition in the sport of golf. In Asia, the Carlsberg Golf Classic series has grown in reputation in Singapore and Malaysia for many years as THE main golfing platform for social golfers. As golf is becoming more and more popular in Vietnam, we decided to bring this reputable golf series of tournaments to Vietnam and create a great golfing platform for all the amateur players in the country. We aim to make this an annual series in the golfers' calendar in Vietnam and in the process, grow in stature and size for the series.

At the inaugural Vietnam series, golfers stand to win many fabulous prizes, such as a Lifetime Membership at the Hanoi Club, hotel vouchers, and top-end golf equipment from Titleist. For the lucky golfers that qualify for the Grand Final, they stand a chance to win a car from Mercedes Benz for hole-in-one, Presidential Suite room stay at the Melia and other prizes.

The Carlsberg Golf Classic Vietnam is launched by Carlsberg Indochina, with management of the series by Salient.Media LLP - a Singapore-based marketing and business management company. Apart from golf, Carlsberg and Salient also plan to have off-course events for golfers and sponsors to socialize and network.
